Name - Technically Elwood but the Streets call me Woody
How long have you worked at Common Wood
Since birth
What's your favourite type of timber to work with — and why?
I’ve gotta say I love feature grade Blackbutt. It is the best chewing and its density is a nice challenge for my chompers. The gum veins ad a nice flavour the whole situation.
What is your favourite part of woodworking?
Gotta say I love sawdust. Laying it all day is my favourite thing to do. It’s like dirt but smells better and comes off a bit easier.
Which project are you most proud of so far?
With out a doubt the table and bench seat we did for Jarrod. He doesn't like dogs. I left him a special treat in one of the drawers.

What’s the biggest stuff-up you’ve made on a job, and what did you learn from it?
Can’t say I’ve ever made a mistake. I’m pretty perfect when it comes to everything I have ever done in life and woodworking.
What’s your favourite tool in the workshop?
Ohh well.. I really love the panel saw. I nap under it all the time. Even when it is running. The loud noise of it is like white noise to me.
If you could build anything, with no budget or time limits, what would it be?
Good question - Probably an automatic tennis ball chucker. That really is the dream.
Favourite sporting team?
AIPA Leichhardt, The North Sydney Bears - Any team that plays ball sport really.
What Music or Podcast do you listen to while you’re working?
Mostly listen to yacht rock. Kick back and chill.
What advice would you give someone just starting out in woodworking?
Get yourself a panel saw. Nap under it. Thank me later
What do you enjoy most about being part of Common Wood?
Being the boss is hard work sometimes. I’ve got to keep the rabble in check. I do enjoy meeting new customers when they come into the workshop. I usually force some belly rubs onto most of them.
